Seven Suspects Arrested in Algiers Vehicle Theft Case

Algiers police have successfully recovered eight vehicles previously reported stolen, according to a statement from the communication cell of the Algiers wilaya security. This operation, initiated following intelligence reports concerning individuals suspected of vehicle theft, highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to address criminal activity in the capital.
Investigations conducted on the ground, supported by the exploitation of technical data, led to the identification and subsequent arrest of seven suspects. These individuals, some of whom had prior judicial records and outstanding arrest warrants for similar cases, were apprehended in close coordination with the Public Prosecutor. The scope of the inquiry covered the jurisdiction of the vehicle theft combat brigade under the Wilaya Judicial Police Service, as well as the national territory.
Beyond the recovery of the eight vehicles of various types, the operation resulted in the seizure of 2,818,500 Algerian Dinars, falsified documents, plates, registration numbers, counterfeit keys, and equipment used in theft, including a GPS detection device. Following the completion of legal procedures, the suspects were presented before the territorially competent public prosecutor's office at the Dar El Beïda court, as outlined in a criminal procedure file. This successful intervention demonstrates the Algerian police's capability in combating organized crime.
