Tassili Airlines Secures World-First Medical Evacuation Jets

Tassili Travail Aérien (TTA), a subsidiary of the Sonatrach group, has successfully completed the technical acceptance procedures for two new Cessna SkyCourier aircraft from the American company Textron Aviation. This acquisition marks a significant milestone, as it represents the first order for this aircraft model in Africa and notably, the first global order for a SkyCourier specifically equipped for aero-medical and urgent medical evacuation missions. The two aircraft are anticipated to arrive in Algiers before the end of October.

The newly acquired SkyCourier aircraft are designed for multi-mission capabilities, including passenger transport, urgent medical evacuations, and specialized operations. Their integration is set to enhance Algeria's operational readiness and reliability in handling emergency situations and supporting strategic sectors with precision. The versatile design of these aircraft is expected to boost TTA's capacity to deliver critical services efficiently.

These new additions to TTA's fleet will primarily operate from bases in Algiers and Hassi Messaoud, aiming to support the operational efficiency of the energy sector and meet specific logistical requirements. The US Embassy in Algeria acknowledged this achievement, congratulating TTA, Textron Aviation, and its recognized distributor, Africair, and expressed pride in supporting this investment partnership, which highlights the depth of commercial relations between the United States and Algeria and facilitates the transfer of advanced American technology to the Algerian market.
