Thirty-One Algerian Universities Featured in Africa Rankings

Algeria has achieved a prominent position in the Times Higher Education (THE) Africa University Rankings 2027, demonstrating a significant presence in the continental assessment of higher education institutions. The nation boasts the second-highest number of ranked universities across Africa, with 31 institutions included in the latest evaluation.

The 2027 rankings encompassed 191 universities from 20 African countries, making it a broad and comprehensive assessment of academic excellence. Algeria's 31 universities place it second only to Egypt, which featured 40 institutions. South Africa followed with 17 universities in the overall ranking, highlighting Algeria's substantial representation among the continent's academic leaders.
