University Plans New Technical Programs for Next Year

Algeria's University of Continuous Education (UCE) is expanding its specializations and physical presence to better serve the needs of the country's southern regions and their labor markets. Director-General Yahia Jaafari announced this strategic direction in Illizi during the conclusion of the fourth Digital Education Week, themed "Training University towards a Smart Training System." He highlighted Illizi as one of the UCE's active centers in the Grand South, emphasizing efforts to introduce new specializations tailored to local resources, developmental requirements, and the needs of the community.
The UCE's expansion includes the addition of four new centers, primarily located in the South and Grand South, alongside a broader increase in its network of specializations, which currently numbers over 27. Nationally, the university serves more than 100,000 students. For the third consecutive year, UCE has welcomed new baccalaureate holders, with its degrees now holding equal professional and academic value compared to those from other universities.
Looking ahead, the university intends to introduce new technical specializations during the upcoming year. This expansion is designed to enhance partnerships between the UCE and various local stakeholders, integrating scientific knowledge with professional, economic, and developmental requirements. The overarching goal is to support local development, foster job creation, and generate added value for the national economy, with a strong emphasis on improving the quality of university services and strengthening knowledge and research initiatives.
