Military Personnel Social Care: ANP’s Strategic Investment in Human Capital
General Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (ANP) and Delegate Minister to the Minister of National Defense, recently presided over a working meeting with the executives and personnel of the Social Service Directorate of the Ministry of National Defense. The meeting, held at the National Army Club in Béni-Messous, focused on the critical role of social welfare within the military. General Chengriha affirmed that multi-faceted social support, encompassing housing, healthcare, and quality reception facilities, is not a supplementary service but a strategic investment in human capital, which he described as the backbone of the military institution.
During his address, General Chengriha emphasized the intrinsic link between a military member's readiness and combat effectiveness and their social and living conditions. He highlighted that when a combatant feels cared for and valued, this sentiment transforms into a powerful incentive, motivating them to redouble their efforts in performing preparatory and combat missions, regardless of the challenges. This perspective underscores the ANP's commitment to ensuring optimal conditions for its personnel, recognizing that their well-being directly contributes to national defense capabilities.
The General noted that practical achievements in social services over recent years serve as living proof of the high command's determination to meet objectives in this vital area. These accomplishments include the construction of numerous new, modern social facilities and the deployment of qualified and specialized human resources to manage them in accordance with established standards. General Chengriha also received a presentation on the directorate's development plan and future projects, subsequently issuing directives to the social service executives aimed at improving performance and refining work methodologies to elevate the quality of social care provided to military personnel.
