Arab Labour Organization Meets CREA for Economic Talks
The President of Algeria's Economic Renewal Council (CREA), Kamal Moula, and the Council's members hosted Fayez Ali Al-Mutairi, Director-General of the Arab Labour Organization (OAT), along with his accompanying delegation yesterday at the CREA headquarters. The meeting, as stated by CREA, focused on exploring avenues for developing economic and social relations between the two entities. It provided a key opportunity to review prospects for cooperation between CREA and OAT, with an emphasis on enhancing coordination and supporting joint initiatives aimed at fostering comprehensive regional economic integration.
During the meeting, Mr. Moula underscored the importance of unifying efforts and intensifying joint work to elevate economic relations among Arab nations, particularly through developing trade exchanges and encouraging intra-Arab investments. He stressed the necessity of transitioning from merely discussing cooperation and consultation to implementing concrete economic projects and partnerships. This approach, he explained, aims to leverage the extensive capabilities and potential within Arab countries, thereby strengthening the presence of Arab economic institutions in regional markets and serving common interests to advance Arab economic integration.
Mr. Moula further highlighted the crucial role of embedding a culture of dialogue and trust among all economic stakeholders, including public authorities, employer representatives, and worker organizations. He affirmed that harmonizing visions and coordinating efforts among these parties are fundamental to achieving economic and social stability, enhancing institutional competitiveness, supporting investment and production, and creating employment opportunities. From his side, OAT Director-General Fayez Ali Al-Mutairi emphasized the significance of continuous consultation and coordination between the two sides, along with exchanging expertise and strengthening the role of economic and social institutions in driving development and fostering greater integration among Arab economies.
