Real Madrid Expands Youth Football Presence in Algeria

The Real Madrid Foundation is preparing to launch a new educational football program (EFP) in Algeria. This initiative, set to begin on October 9th, will extend throughout the 2026-2027 sports season, continuing until June 2027. The program aims to provide football training and education on sports and personal values for children and young people between the ages of 5 and 17. The announcement of the program followed a reception hosted by the Real Madrid Foundation for a delegation from MENA Elite Sport in Madrid, where project details were presented.

The program will accommodate up to 75 participants, who will engage in three training sessions per week. Additionally, monthly activities dedicated to values education and personal development will be incorporated. The training sessions will take place at the Higher School of Sports Sciences and Technologies, located within the 5 Juillet Olympic Complex in Dely Ibrahim, Algiers. The curriculum is based on the Real Madrid Foundation's established football teaching methodology, emphasizing values such as respect, perseverance, teamwork, and solidarity, alongside the development of technical skills.

The Real Madrid Foundation will provide technical oversight for the project, assigning a Spanish coach to ensure the proper implementation of its methodology. The coaching staff will also include four local coaches responsible for daily participant monitoring. This annual program builds upon the experience of summer clinics organized by the Real Madrid Foundation in Algiers during the summer of 2026, which saw the participation of 302 children. The expansion marks a transition from limited-duration summer activities to a comprehensive, season-long project that offers regular training to foster both football skills and personal capabilities among participants. Emilio Butragueño, Real Madrid's institutional relations director, attended these previous events, highlighting the Foundation's commitment to developing its sports and educational activities in Algeria.
