Algeria and the Republic of Congo have engaged in discussions to revive cultural cooperation and strengthen artistic exchange between the two nations. The meeting involved Malika Ben Douda, Algeria's Minister of Culture and Arts, and Jean-Claude Gakosso, the Republic of Congo's Minister of Culture, Arts, National Heritage, and Tourism Industry. The talks focused on developing cultural relations, broadening cooperation in various artistic fields, and enhancing mutual participation in cultural festivals and events organized by both countries.

During the meeting, the Congolese delegation extended an invitation to Algeria to participate in the African Music Festival, scheduled for 2027, and the Brazzaville Book Fair. Additionally, a proposal was made to host Algerian writers and literary figures, aiming to foster cultural and literary communication between Algeria and the Republic of Congo.

A significant aspect of the discussions centered on the protection of author's rights and neighboring rights. The Congolese side expressed appreciation for Algeria's experience in this domain. In response, Algeria's Minister of Culture and Arts proposed establishing cooperation between the Algerian National Office of Copyright and Neighboring Rights (ONDA) and the Congolese Office of Copyright (BCDA), facilitating the exchange of expertise and leveraging Algeria's experience. A draft cooperation agreement between the two institutions is pending further discussion.

Concluding the meeting, the Algerian Minister of Culture and Arts issued an official invitation to the Congolese Minister to visit Algeria. This invitation aims to continue consultations on developing cultural cooperation and strengthening the partnership between the two countries, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing Algerian-Congolese cultural relations in areas such as literature, arts, music, and the protection of creators' rights, thereby enhancing Algeria's cultural presence in Africa and expanding continental exchange.
