Kuwaiti Ambassador, Algerian Finance Minister Discuss Business Council

Algerian and Kuwaiti officials recently engaged in discussions focused on bolstering economic and commercial cooperation between the two nations. Kuwait's Ambassador to Algeria, Nawaf Boushaiba, met with Algerian Finance Minister Mohamed Lamine Labou and separately with the Director General of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), Chkib Koudairi. These meetings underscored the mutual desire to deepen the distinguished historical ties shared by Algeria and Kuwait.

A key proposal emerging from these discussions was the establishment and activation of a joint Algerian-Kuwaiti business council. Furthermore, both parties emphasized the importance of intensifying bilateral efforts to inaugurate a direct airline route between Algeria and Kuwait. This proposed route, which Algerian Airlines is reportedly seeking to launch, aims to significantly enhance trade, boost tourism, and facilitate the movement of business professionals and economic operators between the two countries.

To further expand economic and trade relations, the discussions also focused on developing a joint action plan. This plan includes organizing a virtual meeting involving specialized bodies from both countries to showcase investment opportunities, explore potential partnerships, and facilitate the exchange of commercial information. The goal is to open channels for data exchange on available opportunities and to address any obstacles to import and export activities. Discussions also highlighted promising sectors for investment, such as pharmaceutical industries, food production, cosmetics, and petrochemicals.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing coordination and joint work to deepen economic and commercial cooperation. This collective effort seeks to intensify exchanges and investments, thereby opening new horizons for partnerships between Algerian and Kuwaiti enterprises and economic actors, aligning with the aspirations of both countries' political leadership.
