National Popular Army Halts Illegal Gold Mining Operation

A detachment of the Algerian National Popular Army (ANP) in the Third Military Region successfully neutralized three illegal gold prospectors of African nationalities. This operation, detailed in a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, reflects the armed forces' continued vigilance against illicit activities.
During the intervention, ANP forces recovered a firearm along with various pieces of equipment used in illegal prospecting. Specifically, six pressure hammers and six electric generators were seized, underscoring the sophisticated nature of these unauthorized operations targeting Algeria's natural wealth.
This decisive action is part of the ANP's broader, ongoing efforts to combat organized crime and counter illegal gold prospecting, which aims to deplete national resources. The Ministry of National Defense affirmed that the operation demonstrates the high command's firm resolve to counter all illegal activities and safeguard the country's economic interests.
