Postmen’s National Race Highlights Public Service Accessibility

Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerouki, recently presided over the concluding ceremony of the National Postmen's Race in Algiers, an event celebrated under the theme "One postal network, infinite possibilities." Mr. Zerouki highlighted the race's status as an established tradition within the postal sector's calendar, commending postmen for their essential role. Their duties extend beyond mail and parcel delivery, positioning them as a fundamental link between the administration and citizens, thereby fostering social connections through their diligent and professional service in all circumstances.

The Minister underscored the postal sector's significance as a vital public utility crucial for national development. He noted its commitment to providing comprehensive postal and financial services across all regions of the nation, supported by a network of more than 4,400 post offices. This extensive infrastructure actively contributes to bringing public services closer to citizens, ensuring their continuous availability and equitable access throughout Algeria.

Furthermore, Mr. Zerouki emphasized Algeria Post's expanding role in advancing the country's digital transformation initiatives, including the widespread adoption of electronic payments and the development of e-commerce. Evidence of this progress is reflected in the fact that the number of Algeria Post cash card users, in all its forms, has surpassed 18 million, while postal current accounts now exceed 31 million nationwide.
