APN Commission Reviews Penal Code for Child, Human Rights

The Legal Affairs and Administrative, Freedoms and Human Rights Commission of Algeria's National Popular Assembly (APN) recently convened a meeting in Algiers to advance its review of a draft Penal Code. This session highlights the Assembly's dedication to legislative improvements for the protection of fundamental rights.

During the meeting, the commission heard from key national figures, including Meriem Cherfi, the National Delegate for Child Protection, and representatives from the National Council for Human Rights (CNDH). These consultations are an integral part of the legislative body's ongoing examination of the proposed code.

An Assembly communiqué confirmed that this initiative reflects a continued commitment to strengthening national legislation, particularly concerning fundamental rights and social protection, thereby enhancing safeguards for Algerian citizens.
