Cultural Radiance Agency Relaunch Targets Global Algerian Art

Malika Bendouda, the Minister of Culture and Arts, recently chaired an extensive meeting at the Ministry's headquarters to discuss the relaunch of the Algerian Agency for Cultural Radiance (AARC). The discussions focused on renewing the agency's missions and developing operational mechanisms to significantly broaden the scope of Algerian cultural and artistic influence both nationally and internationally. This involved reviewing the AARC's fundamental tasks and powers to ensure their adaptation to the modern requirements of the sector.
During the meeting, the Minister underscored the importance of establishing a renewed approach as a central component of “cultural diplomacy.” This strategy is designed to highlight the richness and diversity of the national cultural heritage in international forums, thereby making culture an active tool for communication and dialogue. Furthermore, the initiative aims to foster openness to global experiences by attracting foreign creators and artists to enrich the local cultural landscape.
The Minister called for the formulation of practical proposals to program distinctive artistic events and organize Algerian cultural weeks abroad. These events are primarily intended for Algerian expatriates, enabling them to reinforce their ties to their cultural identity. The scope of these diplomatic initiatives is envisioned to extend to Arab, African, and European countries, guided by a well-considered participatory vision.
In concluding the meeting, Ms. Bendouda emphasized the necessity of developing a comprehensive executive framework. This framework will precisely define the agency's operational priorities and guarantee its effective performance, thereby translating the sector's overarching strategy into implementable cultural programs that promote Algerian arts and culture and enhance their global presence.
