Dakar Forum Hosts Algeria’s Human Rights Council President

Algeria's National Council for Human Rights (NCHRs) recently participated in an Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) forum held in Dakar, the capital of Senegal. The Algerian delegation to this important event, which took place from October 8 to 10, was led by Ms. Maïa Fadhil Sahli, the President of the NCHRs.

The Dakar forum served as a preparatory meeting for the 89th ordinary session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights. Algeria's involvement underscored its commitment to regional human rights matters and provided a crucial platform for the country to enhance dialogue and exchange expertise with other key African stakeholders.

This active participation by the NCHRs is a significant step in reinforcing Algeria's constructive presence within various African forums dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights across the continent. Such engagements facilitate collaboration and mutual understanding on issues central to the continent's social and legal development.
