Malaysia’s AIROD Explores Defense, Aeronautics Partnership with Algeria

Algeria and Malaysia are initiating discussions for an industrial partnership across the sensitive sectors of aeronautics and defense industries. Central to these exchanges, held in Algiers, are the refurbishment of aircraft, the training of Algerian technicians, and critically, the transfer of technological expertise. According to a statement from the Malaysian diplomatic representation in Algeria, Ambassador Datuk Rizany Irwan engaged in a series of meetings with leaders from the AIROD group. The primary objective of this visit was to assess the potential for AIROD to establish operations within Algeria. The core focus of the discussions centers on MRO activities—maintenance, repair, and heavy overhaul of aircraft. AIROD has established a strong reputation in this field over decades, servicing both military fleets and civil aircraft.

Both nations are exploring how AIROD's experience can benefit Algeria's industrial landscape.
