Education Minister Directs Study Condition Improvements

The Minister of National Education, Mohamed Al-Saghir Saadawi, issued directives focused on enhancing study conditions and bolstering communication within the education sector. During a national videoconference attended by central administration officials, the Minister emphasized the ongoing commitment to completing and equipping educational institutions nationwide. He also called for robust on-site follow-up to ensure the prompt handover and operationalization of new facilities.

The directives underscored the importance of securing appropriate conditions for students, including systematic transport arrangements, in coordination with local partners and parent associations. This approach aims to alleviate pressure on existing institutions. Minister Saadawi also mandated the equipping of educational facilities, particularly new ones, with necessary scientific equipment for laboratories across subjects such as natural sciences, physics, engineering, mathematics, arts, and physical education.

Further emphasizing the partnership between families and schools, Minister Saadawi stressed the need for educational institutions to engage with their communities and strengthen dialogue with parent associations. He highlighted the vital role of these associations in supporting schools and urged their establishment where they do not yet exist. The Minister affirmed the importance of listening to parents and clarifying organizational aspects of school operations to facilitate their children's academic monitoring and guidance.

The Minister also addressed the circulation of what he described as false, misleading, and inciting publications on social media, which he stated aim to disrupt harmony between parents, particularly mothers, and educational institutions. He clarified that while parental follow-up on children's status is encouraged, the determination of who undertakes this responsibility typically rests with parents' agreement, with regulations applied in exceptional cases. Concluding his directives, Minister Saadawi emphasized enhanced local coordination in media and communication to provide accurate information on educational developments, offer necessary clarifications, and highlight efforts to improve study conditions, thereby fostering transparency and trust within the national education sector.
