The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Algeria has offered 30 fully funded scholarships for Algerian students to pursue higher education in Chinese universities and institutes during the 2027-2028 academic year. These scholarships will cover Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degree programs. This initiative, communicated through diplomatic channels on October 25, 2026, underscores the continued cooperation between the two nations in education.
The comprehensive funding provided by the Chinese government includes tuition fees and accommodation costs, ensuring substantial support for the selected students. International travel tickets are not included in the scholarship package. Prospective candidates are required to secure preliminary acceptance from at least one Chinese university or institute, highlighting the competitive nature of the program.
Specific academic requirements vary by degree level; Bachelor's degree applicants must register for and achieve valid scores in the Chinese University Academic Admission Test (CSCA), with relevant test sessions scheduled in late 2026 and early 2027. Master's and Doctorate candidates opting for Chinese as their language of instruction will also need to demonstrate proficiency through the Chinese Language Proficiency Test (HSK). The Chinese Embassy has urged the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to disseminate this information to relevant parties, with the deadline for submitting candidate lists to the embassy set for January 20, 2027, encouraging early preparation from interested students.
