Hydrocarbon Exports Generate $37.5 Billion for Algeria
Algeria’s hydrocarbon exports generated $37.5 billion in revenue during the first nine months of 2026, exceeding initial financial forecasts. This strong performance highlights the robust contribution of the energy sector to the national economy.

Algeria's hydrocarbon exports achieved revenues of $37.5 billion from January through the end of September 2026, as announced by Mohamed Arkab, Minister of State and Minister of Hydrocarbons. The significant earnings underscore the robust performance of the nation's energy sector and were presented during an overview to the finance and budget committee of the National People's Assembly in Algiers, as part of discussions for the 2027 finance bill.
These substantial revenues were primarily bolstered by a 37% increase in the average price of Algerian crude oil compared to the same period in 2025. The average price for Algerian crude stood at nearly $97 per barrel, while commercialized Algerian gas reached approximately $11.3 per million British Thermal Units.
Furthermore, petroleum tax revenues demonstrated a strong financial outcome, reaching 2,841 billion dinars. This figure represents approximately 105% of the 2,698 billion dinars originally forecast in the 2026 finance law, indicating that the sector surpassed its fiscal expectations for the period.
