Public Works Ministry Intensifies Road Projects Across 12 Wilayas

The Algerian Ministry of Public Works has announced an intensification of road modernization and maintenance projects across twelve wilayas, aligning with the monitoring of projects scheduled for the year 2026. This extensive undertaking spans the wilayas of Bordj Badji Mokhtar, El Bayadh, Bouira, M'Sila, Mesaad, Tébessa, Tindouf, Oum El Bouaghi, Aïn Témouchent, Batna, Boussaâda, and El M'Ghair, reflecting a nationwide commitment to enhancing the road network.

Significant progress is evident across various locations. In Bordj Badji Mokhtar, modernization efforts on National Road 6 (RN 6), linking the capital to Timiaouine over 150 km, are in full swing, with one 30 km section currently receiving its grave-bitume base layer. El Bayadh has seen over 50% completion on a 10.5 km section of RN 111, while Bouira's Wilaya Road 93 (CW 93) is undergoing modernization across 20 km. Furthermore, the reinforcement of National Road 3 in El M'Ghair, covering a 10 km stretch between Djamaa and Sidi Amrane, has reached 100% completion on its bituminous concrete layer, shoulder treatment, and ground marking, marking a successful delivery of this crucial section.

Additional projects contribute to this infrastructure development push. In Mesaad, bituminization has resumed on a 50 km road connecting the limits of Laghouat and Ouled Djellal. Tébessa is seeing the construction of a 25 km communal road and the development of 8.6 km of access tracks. In Tindouf, efforts are focused on maintaining and renewing horizontal signage on RN 50. Notably, Oum El Bouaghi has seen the rehabilitation of a 9 km section of CW 08 brought into service, improving connectivity for residents. Work continues in Aïn Témouchent on the maintenance of RN 02, in Batna on the duplication of a 56 km road linking RN 88 to RN 03, and in Boussaâda on the reinforcement of RN 89, collectively demonstrating broad improvements to Algeria's vital transport infrastructure.
