Algerian FA Considering Antar Yahia for Role in New Coaching Staff

DZWatch has learned from its own sources that the Algerian Football Federation is studying the possibility of bringing former national team captain Antar Yahia into the technical staff of the next head coach of the Algerian national team.

According to the same sources, the idea being discussed does not involve appointing Antar Yahia as the head coach. Instead, the federation is considering him for a supporting role within the future technical staff, where his experience and knowledge of the national team environment could be highly valuable.

The former captain of the Greens remains one of the most respected figures in Algerian football. His long experience with the national team, his understanding of the players’ mentality, and his strong connection with the history of Algerian football are among the reasons behind this possible choice.

Sources also indicate that Antar Yahia’s leadership personality could make him an important addition to the staff, especially inside the dressing room. His ability to impose discipline, communicate with players and maintain a strong group spirit may help the next coach manage the squad during the coming period.

The Algerian national team is currently preparing for a new stage, and the composition of the future technical staff remains an important file for the federation. The presence of a former international player with Antar Yahia’s profile could provide balance between technical work, leadership and psychological support for the players.

For now, no final decision has been officially announced. However, the option remains under consideration as the Algerian Football Federation continues to study the best formula for the next phase of the national team.
