Minister Kortel Urges Vigilance, Innovation for Industry

Minister of Industry Farid Kortel convened a virtual evaluation meeting with state industry directors and central administration officials. The session focused on assessing local operational progress, monitoring various sector-related files and programs, and identifying methods to resolve registered obstacles.
During the meeting, Minister Kortel issued directives for state industry directors to implement a new operational approach. This strategy emphasizes vigilance, innovation, rapid execution, and elevating performance levels. The objective is to significantly bolster the industrial sector's contribution to the Gross Domestic Product, in alignment with the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The Minister underscored the importance of closer engagement and field support for investors. He stressed the need to address their concerns, actively work on overcoming obstacles they face, and ensure all economic operators receive equal consideration. Regular meetings are also to be organized to follow up on investor projects and address ongoing issues.
This strategic focus on industrial development follows recent governmental efforts to streamline industrial land management. Earlier, Minister Kortel announced that his department, in collaboration with state governors, had processed the status of 729 industrial zones of various types nationwide. This action was a direct result of presidential instructions to complete a comprehensive inventory of industrial real estate by the end of last September, covering activity zones, old industrial zones, new industrial zones, and other facilities.
