National Security Dismantles Drug Ring, Seizes 2.4 Million Pills

The Central Service for Combating Illicit Drug and Psychotropic Substance Trafficking of the National Security has successfully dismantled an organized criminal group involved in drug trafficking, leading to the seizure of 2.4 million psychotropic pills. This operation targeted a network composed of 15 individuals, 10 of whom were apprehended in flagrante delicto during the initial investigation.

The criminal group was engaged in illicit import, transport, shipping, storage, and possession of psychotropic substances, specifically Pregabalin 300 mg, with the intent to sell. Their activities, part of a transnational organized framework, were identified as posing a threat to national security, aiming to create insecurity, and disturbing public order and security. Charges against the suspects also include dangerous smuggling affecting public security and health, as well as money laundering within the criminal organization.

Following the presentation of the suspects before the Public Prosecution, judicial investigations were initiated. The National Judicial Pole for Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Organized Crime at Sidi M'Hamed Court issued orders on October 29, 2026, for the provisional detention of the 10 arrested individuals. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining five identified members of the criminal group who are still at large.
