Ooredoo Supports Béjaïa Forum on Open Innovation

Ooredoo Algeria supported an economic forum on open innovation and Industry 4.0, organized by Multi Projects Investissements (MPI) in Akbou, Béjaïa, on Thursday, October 1, 2026. This initiative is aligned with Ooredoo's commitment to youth, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The event, the fifth edition of the national "Shab, Fikra" (Youth, Idea) caravan, operated under the patronage of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises, aiming to strengthen collaboration between young innovators, entrepreneurs, startups, economic enterprises, and various stakeholders in the economic and technological ecosystem.
The forum facilitated discussions and experience sharing on innovation, entrepreneurship, and new development opportunities. Key attendees included Noureddine Waddah, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises, and Ramdane Djezairi, Ooredoo Algeria's Director of Corporate Affairs, Media Relations, and Social Responsibility, alongside regional industrialists, company representatives, and startup founders. Discussions focused on challenges of digital and industrial transformation, technological innovation, the emergence of new economic models, and opportunities for cooperation and partnership. A significant development during the forum was the inauguration of the first local "OneCloud" data center in Akbou.
Ooredoo Algeria's participation underscores its dedication to showcasing young Algerian talents and fostering communication among diverse economic and innovative actors. This involvement contributes to creating an environment conducive to realizing innovative ideas and transforming them into promising economic projects. The company reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives that position youth, innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation at the core of Algeria's developmental and economic dynamism, aiming to solidify a culture of innovation and encourage initiative among Algerian competencies and projects. Ooredoo had previously supported the fourth edition of the "Shab, Fikra" caravan in 2025, including a "Bootcamp" for 20 young individuals at its "t-Start" incubator, and subsequently integrated four innovative projects into its incubator program for structured support and access to expertise.
