Saidal Finalizes Syntegon Deal for Local Vaccine Production

Algerian public group Saidal has finalized negotiations with the German company Syntegon for the acquisition of a vaccine production line. The discussions, led by Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry Ouacim Kouidri during a working visit to Germany with Saidal's director-general and executives, focused on key aspects such as the delivery timeline and industrial capacities of the new line.
This initiative aligns with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's vision to strengthen national health sovereignty and achieve health independence. The project aims to supply the national market with locally manufactured vaccines, encompassing all vaccines included in the national vaccination schedule, through an integrated production process.
Saidal's ambitions extend beyond meeting national demands, with plans to export vaccines to African countries through United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) supply programs, thereby facilitating access for Algerian products to African and international markets. The future production line is intended to serve as an industrial foundation for implementing agreements with major international vaccine manufacturers, ensuring integrated manufacturing with a complete production cycle and guaranteeing technology transfer to Saidal.
