Prime Minister Ghrieb Represents Tebboune at Russia-Africa Summit

Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb arrived in Moscow on Thursday, October 29, at the Kremlin Palace, representing President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to participate in the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit and its accompanying Economic and Humanitarian Forum. The summit's public sessions, attended by representatives from 48 African countries including 22 heads of state and government, focus on advancing economic and humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Africa. Organized under the theme "For Peace, Security and Development," the event seeks to define strategic frameworks for cooperation for the next three years, with discussions aimed at expanding mutual benefit across various sectors.
As a key partner of Russia in Africa, Algeria, under President Tebboune's leadership, plays a significant role in supporting stability and fostering cooperation and integration among African nations. This vision is centered on developing cross-border infrastructure and expanding connectivity networks, encompassing transport, energy, and communications. Such efforts are designed to strengthen economic interdependence and support joint development across the continent.
Algeria's commitment is demonstrated through strategic projects such as the Trans-Saharan Road, the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline, and the Trans-Saharan Fiber Optic Link. Additionally, Algeria supports energy infrastructure in neighboring countries, with power stations it constructed in Niger now operational, and another currently under construction in Chad. The nation is also actively working to enhance air connectivity with African countries by opening new routes and has offered its maritime ports to landlocked African nations. This initiative allows these countries to receive goods through Algerian ports and transport them to their territories, thereby facilitating trade and reducing transit costs.
