Seasia Stats Ranks Algeria Among Top 10 African Tourist Hosts

Algeria has been recognized as one of Africa's top 10 most visited tourist destinations for the year 2025, according to recent data published by the Seasia Stats platform. This distinction places Algeria among the continent's leading travel hubs during what the report describes as 'a prosperous year' for international tourism in Africa. Globally, the World Tourism Organization reported that Africa welcomed approximately 81 million international visitors in 2025, marking an 8% increase compared to the previous year, driven by the continent's diverse heritage, wildlife, vibrant cities, beaches, and cultural experiences.

Specifically, Algeria secured the sixth position among African nations for tourist arrivals in 2025. The country successfully attracted 2.2 million international visitors, showcasing its significant appeal within the competitive African tourism market. This performance underscores Algeria's growing capability to draw a substantial number of travelers, reflecting broader trends of tourism recovery and expansion across the African continent.

The Seasia Stats report, released in early October, highlights that top destinations, including Algeria, are well-positioned to attract even more visitors in the coming years. This positive outlook is attributed to factors such as improved connections, new investments in the tourism sector, and a growing international interest in what Africa has to offer. Algeria's inclusion in this elite group demonstrates its potential for continued growth and its increasing prominence as a premier destination.
