Single Investment Window Now Operational in Algeria

A presidential decree establishing the National Single Window for Investment has been published in Algeria's Official Gazette. Signed by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the decree specifies the missions, organization, and operational framework of this new body. The initiative is designed to rationalize and simplify investment procedures, thereby enhancing the overall business environment for both national and international investors within Algeria.
This newly formed National Single Window for Investment will serve as the sole, integrated, and exclusive point of contact for all investors. Its mandate encompasses making decisions, issuing approvals, authorizations, and all other necessary documents related to investments registered under its purview. This comprehensive authority extends from the initial registration phase through to project realization and operational stages, aligning with existing legislation and regulations.
The National Single Window is led by a CEO, appointed by the President of the Republic with the rank of Minister of State, and operates under the direct authority of the Prime Minister. Its responsibilities also include the management of industrial land designated for investment, which involves creating and developing industrial zones, establishing a land portfolio from state and private domains, and overseeing the allocation and promotion of economic land. Furthermore, the entity is tasked with monitoring the progress of investment projects, assessing eligibility for various incentives, granting these advantages, and ensuring their continuous follow-up.
