Smala Festival Highlights Algerian Culture Near Paris

The Smala Festival is set to highlight Algerian culture, artisanat, gastronomy, and music in Nanterre, near Paris, France, on October 31 and November 1. This two-day event, organized by Smala Média, aims to offer a “voyage au cœur de l’Algérie” for attendees without them leaving the Parisian region. It provides an opportunity for the public to discover the work and expertise of numerous Algerian artisans and creators.

Located at the Comet Arboretum event space, the festival will bring together nearly 50 Algerian brands and creators, along with various actors from gastronomy, business, and music. The program is designed to allow visitors to engage with Algerian culture through a diverse range of activities. These include encounters and masterclasses with inspiring personalities, film screenings followed by debates with directors and artists, and shopping opportunities to explore dozens of Algerian brands and artisans.

Beyond the artisanat and business aspects, Algerian gastronomy will be prominently featured, offering attendees a taste of traditional specialties. Music, live performances, fashion shows, and showcases are also scheduled to animate the festival throughout the weekend. The initiative aims to foster discovery, learning, and cultural exchange, celebrating the richness of Algerian heritage and enabling direct interaction between the public and Algerian exhibitors, thereby promoting a positive image of Algeria’s cultural and economic capabilities abroad.
