Women’s National Team Dominates Olympic Qualifier, Prepares for Return Leg

The Algerian Women's National Football Team achieved a significant 8-0 victory against Central Africa in the first leg of their Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 qualifier. This decisive win places the team in a particularly strong position as they prepare for the return match. The team's commanding performance saw goals from Marine Dafeur, Lina Boussaha, Sofia Bekkaleo, Nihed Naili, Inès Belloumou, Lynda Bendris, and Nesrine Bahlouli, supplemented by an own goal from the opposing side.
With this substantial advantage, the Algerian squad is ideally placed to continue its journey in the Olympic qualifiers. The return fixture is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, at 6:00 PM at the 5-Juillet stadium in Algiers. In a move to encourage widespread support for the national team, the Algerian Football Federation has announced free stadium access for this crucial second leg, mirroring the arrangement for the first match.
Under the guidance of coach Farid Benstiti, the team continues its preparations with a serious approach, aiming to finalize their qualification efforts before the home crowd. The Federation utilized its social media platforms to call on supporters to attend in large numbers and back the women's national team, emphasizing the importance of public engagement in their pursuit of Olympic qualification.
