National Football Team Climbs to 28th in FIFA Global Rankings

The Algerian national football team, known as "Al-Khadra," has climbed to 28th place in the latest global rankings released by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). This marks a one-position improvement for the team, moving up from its previous 29th spot. The advancement reflects the positive performance and accumulated points from recent international fixtures.

The team's improved standing in the global hierarchy follows a series of favorable outcomes during the recent international break. Al-Khadra secured a 3-1 victory over Zambia in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, before achieving a 2-2 draw against Burundi in an away fixture. The period concluded with a 2-1 friendly win against Niger, collectively contributing to the team's upward trajectory in the rankings.

With a current tally of 1574.77 points, Algeria now ranks fourth among African national teams and third within the Arab world, reinforcing its presence among the leading football nations on both continental and regional stages. This progress aligns with the strategic objectives of National Coach Ibrahim Hamdani, who has been focused on cultivating a more competitive squad and integrating new talent, with further developments anticipated in upcoming international windows.
