Algiers – Sonelgaz CEO Mourad Adjal welcomed a delegation from Burkina Faso’s National Electricity Company (Sonabel) on Thursday in Algiers. The meeting focused on fostering energy development in Burkina Faso, a country with deep historical ties to Algeria, according to a statement from Sonelgaz.
Held at Sonelgaz’s headquarters, the meeting aligns with Algeria’s strategic commitment to supporting development across the African continent. Adjal reaffirmed Sonelgaz’s readiness to assist Burkina Faso’s energy sector by sharing expertise and bolstering its power infrastructure.
Strengthening Energy Networks in Burkina Faso
Adjal expressed Sonelgaz’s willingness to support Sonabel in expanding and enhancing its electrical network and improving its energy management system. He highlighted Sonelgaz’s extensive experience as a regional leader in the energy sector, particularly in electricity production, transmission, distribution, engineering, maintenance, and specialized training.
The CEO emphasized the importance of accelerating collaboration between the two companies, stressing the need for a clear roadmap to activate this promising partnership. Sonelgaz’s training schools and technical expertise in energy systems were also offered as resources to bolster Burkina Faso’s energy workforce.
