Geneva (Switzerland) – On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Kamel Moula, President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, praised the election of Palestine as an observer member of the International Labour Organization (ILO) during his participation in the plenary session of the 113th International Labour Conference, representing Algerian business leaders, according to a statement issued by the Council.
In his speech, Moula saluted “the 386 delegates who voted in favor of Palestine’s accession,” describing the decision as reflecting “a noble stance and support for justice.” He stressed “the need to respect and apply rights to all without discrimination, in a world where the law of force has prevailed over the force of law,” the statement noted.
Moula expressed hope that “this historic step marks the beginning of a path that upholds justice for Palestinian workers and businesspeople,” pointing to “a set of international and regional tools and mechanisms that should ensure the universality of rights, including human rights, the right to work, development, decent living, water, and life.”
He also reaffirmed the commitment of business leaders to view workers as “true partners” in wealth creation, adding that in Algeria, “we work together, as businesspeople and workers, for strong economic development, genuine national sovereignty, and a just and secure society.”
