Central Bank Cuts Key Rate to 2.75 %

Algeria’s Monetary Policy Council has lowered the key interest rate by 25 basis points to 2.75 % and reduced reserve requirements to 2 %. The council said inflation slid to 0.35 % in July 2025—six percentage points below the same period last year—and that non‑hydrocarbon sectors pushed economic growth to 4.5 % in the first quarter. Officials said the easing aims to improve banks’ ability to finance the economy
