Saihi Praises Strong Economic and Investment Ties with Qatar

Algiers – The Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, on Wednesday highlighted the strength and dynamism of economic and investment relations between Algeria and the State of Qatar, according to a statement from the ministry.

During his meeting with a high-level delegation from the Ooredoo Group, Mr. Saihi emphasized the depth of fraternal ties uniting Algeria and Qatar, while praising the positive momentum driving these relations, particularly in the economic and investment sectors. He pointed to Algeria’s innovative national initiatives that aim to enhance investment in human capital, notably through specialized training programs and mechanisms designed to encourage youth integration into the labor market, in line with sustainable development objectives.

The minister underlined that the Algerian market is rich with talent and that the state has invested considerably in training, especially in modern technologies and artificial intelligence, to support the needs of a renewed national economy.

For his part, Ooredoo Group CEO, Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo, commended the high level of Algerian expertise and voiced the company’s strong interest in benefiting from this exceptional human capital. He also reviewed the company’s major advancements and the measures taken to safeguard jobs within its Algerian branch, reinforcing Ooredoo’s commitment to remain an active economic partner.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on enhancing joint cooperation, especially in the development of human capital and the promotion of investments aligned with sustainable development goals. At the conclusion, Mr. Saihi reaffirmed the ministry’s readiness to support Ooredoo within the framework of national legislation, by providing skilled Algerian professionals to bolster the economy and generate new job opportunities.

This encounter reflects Algeria’s proactive approach to fostering constructive partnerships founded on sovereignty, mutual benefit, and sustainable growth, while also underscoring its strategy of economic independence. It stands in contrast to the Moroccan regime’s model of dependency that continues to hinder true development and deprive its youth of meaningful opportunities.
