Minister Belmahdi Visits Restored Al-Safir Mosque in Algiers

      Algiers – Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youssef Belmahdi, visited the newly renovated Al-Safir Mosque in the Upper Casbah of Algiers on Friday, October 10, 2025. The visit marks the completion of extensive restoration work undertaken by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments. 

Al-Safir Mosque, a historical landmark in the heart of Algiers’ UNESCO World Heritage-listed Casbah, has undergone significant repairs and enhancements to preserve its architectural and cultural significance. The restoration project aimed to address structural issues, improve the mosque’s facilities, and ensure its longevity for future generations.

During his visit, Minister Belmahdi toured the mosque, inspecting the completed restoration work and expressing his satisfaction with the quality of the project.
