Algiers, Algeria – Algeria and Sudan are intensifying their collaborative efforts in the fields of labor and social protection, signaling a deepened partnership between the two nations. The announcement follows a high-level meeting held in Algiers on Thursday, October 23, 2025, between Algerian Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, and Sudanese Minister of State for Human Resources and Social Welfare, Salma Ishaq Mohammed Al-Khalifa.
The meeting, held at the Algerian Ministry headquarters, served as a platform to reaffirm the long-standing historical relationship between Algeria and Sudan. Both ministers emphasized their shared commitment to elevating bilateral ties to a practical and mutually beneficial partnership. The Sudanese Ambassador to Algeria was also in attendance, along with senior officials from both ministries.
During the discussions, Minister Saihi highlighted Algeria’s ongoing efforts to modernize its social security system and expand its coverage to encompass a broader spectrum of society.
