Minister Arkab to Attend APPO Meeting in Brazzaville

Minister of State Mohamed Arkab will participate in the 48th session of the Ministerial Council of the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO), scheduled to take place in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, tomorrow, Tuesday. This was announced today by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines.

According to a statement released by the ministry, the agenda for this session includes discussions on the organizational reform project for APPO, updating its vision and long-term strategy (LTS), and adopting the report related to the nomination of the new Secretary-General. The council will also elect the presidency and executive bodies for the upcoming period.

This meeting coincides with the organization of the fourth edition of the African Local Content Exhibition and Conference (CECLA 2025), scheduled to be held in Brazzaville from November 4 to 7, 2025. The event will be held under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso.

CECLA 2025 is considered a crucial continental platform for exchanging expertise on the development of local content in the oil and gas industries. It aims to promote the participation of African companies in the value chains of the oil and gas sector.

Minister Arkab’s presence underscores Algeria’s commitment to fostering stronger collaboration among African oil-producing nations. The discussions are expected to focus on strategies for maximizing the benefits of the continent’s hydrocarbon resources while promoting sustainable development and local participation.
