Parliament Begins Deliberations on 2026 Finance Bill

Algiers, DZWatch – Members of the National People’s Assembly (APN) commenced discussions today on the proposed 2026 Finance Bill. The bill was presented by the Minister of Finance, Abdelkrim Bouazgui, during a session presided over by APN Speaker Ibrahim Boughali, and attended by members of the government.

The parliamentary debates, scheduled to span three days, will involve interventions from a total of 258 deputies, according to the APN’s agenda. Group leaders are slated to address the assembly next Tuesday, followed by Minister Bouazgui’s response to the deputies’ inquiries regarding the proposed legislation.

As per the established schedule, the vote on the bill is expected to take place on Tuesday, November 18th.

During his presentation, Minister Bouazgui emphasized that the Finance Bill is being considered within a national context characterized by a “gradual economic recovery, driven by the government’s efforts across various sectors.” He further highlighted the state’s ongoing commitment to fostering investment, diversifying the economy, revitalizing major infrastructure projects, and boosting exports.

Bouazgui detailed that the budget expenditure projections outlined in the bill amount to 17,636.7 billion dinars for the year 2026, while anticipated revenues are projected to reach 8,009 billion dinars. The bill is considered crucial for the economic direction of the country in the coming year.
