Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus has concluded the 2025 season at the pinnacle of the WTA rankings, marking a significant personal achievement by holding the coveted number one position for the entire year. This stellar season saw Sabalenka achieve remarkable milestones, solidifying her status as a dominant force in women’s tennis.
Throughout the year, Sabalenka showcased exceptional form, highlighted by her triumphant victory at the US Open. She also reached the finals of the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and the WTA Finals. Her success extended beyond Grand Slams, as she secured titles at the prestigious Miami Open and Madrid Open (WTA 1000 events). This impressive run has resulted in a record-breaking season in terms of prize money earned, surpassing the previous benchmark set by Serena Williams in 2013.
Sabalenka finished the year with an impressive 10,870 points, comfortably ahead of her closest rivals. Iga Swiatek of Poland secured the second position with 8,395 points, followed by American Coco Gauff in third place with 6,763 points. Amanda Anisimova (USA) is fourth with 6,287 points. Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) and Jessica Pegula (USA) rounded out the top six with 5,850 and 5,583 points respectively. Madison Keys (USA) came in seventh with 4,335 points.
The top ten was completed by Jasmine Paolini (Italy) in eighth place with 4,325 points, followed by Russian sensation Mira Andreeva in ninth with 4,319 points, and Ekaterina Alexandrova (Russia) in tenth with 3,375 points. Sabalenka’s consistent performance and Grand Slam win cement her legacy as a top player.
