Jelfa Development Programs to Accelerate, Minister Orders

Jelfa, Algeria – Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Saayoud, has issued directives to accelerate the pace of development programs in the Jelfa region. The announcement followed an evaluation meeting focused on the implementation of the supplementary development program for the province.

During the meeting, a comprehensive review of the province’s development indicators was presented, followed by a detailed analysis of the operations included in the development program across various sectors. Initial findings revealed that 405 projects have commenced out of a total of 435 planned across all municipalities within the province. Of these, 129 projects have been completed, while 276 are currently underway.

In addition to these initiatives, 597 local development projects are being implemented under the program to support the social and economic development of the municipalities.

Commenting on the progress report presented by the Governor of Jelfa and accompanying officials, Minister Saayoud emphasized the importance of the program, which was approved by the President of the Republic to benefit the citizens of Jelfa. He highlighted the significant financial resources allocated to address development gaps, improve the living conditions of citizens, and stimulate economic activity in the region. The Minister commended the efforts made at the local level, urging for an increased pace of work to strengthen the social and economic impact of the program.

Following a review of the progress of various operations related to the supplementary development program, Saayoud issued instructions to address delays in the launch of certain projects and resolve outstanding procedural issues in coordination with relevant sectors. He stressed the need to expedite the completion of finished projects and accelerate the progress of ongoing ones. The Minister also emphasized the importance of completing external development works for completed projects, particularly those related to educational, health, and sports facilities, as well as youth-oriented initiatives, in accordance with quality standards to enhance the facilities and improve the overall urban landscape.

Minister Saayoud underscored the need to make progress in completing irrigation and public works projects, ensuring their timely commissioning to achieve the anticipated impact from the significant financial resources allocated to these vital sectors. He also called for intensified field monitoring by program officials at the local level to oversee the progress of workshops and quality standards.

The Minister concluded by emphasizing the importance of consolidating and enhancing the efforts made within the development program to maximize its positive impact on the community.
