Algerian Prime Minister Addresses Wildfire Aftermath in Tipaza

Tipaza, Algeria – Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib visited the fire-stricken areas of Tipaza Province yesterday, overseeing ongoing efforts to contain the wildfires and address the needs of affected residents.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by a ministerial delegation, personally visited families who had been evacuated as a precautionary measure to local facilities. He assessed the conditions and ensured their well-being, issuing directives to local authorities to provide all necessary support and resources.

Prime Minister Ghrib was received by the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation, Said Saioud, along with the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries, the Commander of the National Gendarmerie, the Director-General of Civil Protection, the Governor of Tipaza Province, and local civil and military authorities.

During the visit, the Director-General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Boughelag, provided a technical briefing to the Prime Minister, outlining the progress of firefighting operations and the resources deployed. The delegation subsequently traveled to the highlands of the Muslimoun municipality to inspect the extent of the fires and assess the suppression efforts underway.

Civil Protection Services have indicated that shifting wind patterns contributed to the spread of the fires towards residential areas. As a result, 55 families were evacuated to ensure their safety. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and are working to provide assistance to those displaced by the wildfires. The government has pledged to ensure the affected families get the support they need to recover from this disaster.
