Brussels played host to a vibrant celebration commemorating the 71st anniversary of the Algerian Revolution. The event, overseen by Algeria’s Ambassador to Belgium, Mohamed El Amine Bencherif, drew a distinguished gathering of officials and diplomats.
The commemoration saw participation from representatives of Belgian and Luxembourgian authorities, alongside delegates from European institutions, international and regional organizations, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Belgium. Military attachés from various nations, including the United States, were also in attendance.
Members of the Algerian diaspora residing in Belgium and Luxembourg joined the festivities, along with prominent Belgian officials, including Brigitte Staelens, Director-General for Bilateral Affairs at the Belgian Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs; Kaisar Hijazin, Secretary-General of the Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce; and François Cornet d’Elzius, Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Investors from the Algerian community were also present.
The occasion served as a platform to showcase Algeria’s economic potential and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation between Algeria and Belgium. Investment opportunities across various sectors were highlighted, positioning the event as a valuable opportunity to strengthen economic and diplomatic ties between the two nations.
The celebrations concluded with a captivating fashion show featuring traditional Algerian attire. This segment aimed to promote Algerian heritage and preserve national cultural identity, creating a festive atmosphere that blended pride in national memory with the celebration of Algerian presence abroad.
