Algeria, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has firmly established itself as a reliable partner in the African integration process. This is due to its consistent positions and developmental initiatives aimed at strengthening joint African action. This sentiment was expressed by the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, Brahim Boughali.
Speaking after the opening of a parliamentary day at the People’s National Assembly, themed ‘The Bet of African Economic Integration, Towards an Effective Partnership,’ Boughali highlighted Algeria’s commitment to leveraging its capabilities and infrastructure to support African integration. This includes its road networks, energy connectivity, fiber optics, and its Mediterranean coastline, all aimed at boosting intra-continental trade and trade with Europe.
Algeria has consistently been a strong supporter of African development. Boughali noted that Algeria was among the first countries to support African development, hosting the fourth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair. He also affirmed Algeria’s readiness to organize a conference on the local production of medicines and health technologies later this month, in addition to the African Conference for Emerging Institutions.
Boughali reiterated Algeria’s commitment to its African obligations, striving to support all initiatives that enhance continental economic cooperation and develop a legal and institutional framework that keeps pace with global transformations.
The organization of this parliamentary day reflects Algeria’s orientation towards strengthening its presence on the continent and consolidating African solidarity. The goal is to build a strong, integrated, and united African economy capable of making its own decisions independently.
