Sonatrach Explores Partnership Opportunities with John Crane

Algiers – Sonatrach’s CEO, Rachid Hachichi, recently received a delegation from the British company John Crane at the company’s headquarters. The delegation was led by John Crane’s President, Robin Alvarez, and included senior executives from both companies.

According to a statement released by Sonatrach, the meeting focused on existing projects between the two entities, particularly those related to the supply, installation, and repair of dry gas seals for compressors across several of Sonatrach’s gas facilities.

Discussions also centered on potential future partnerships between Sonatrach and John Crane. Both parties explored avenues for collaboration, with a particular emphasis on integrated solutions aimed at improving the performance of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, motors, and turbines. The talks also touched upon areas like methane emission reduction, decarbonization initiatives, digitalization, and the development of new energy sources, including solar power and hydrogen.

John Crane is a global leader in providing engineered sealing solutions and maintenance services for rotating equipment. The company is also active in enhancing and securing the operation of pumps, compressors, and turbines within the oil and gas industry. This collaboration could mark a significant step towards modernizing Sonatrach’s infrastructure and embracing sustainable energy practices.
