Algiers, October 22, 2025 – The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications has issued a strong warning against the use and distribution of GSM signal boosters, also known as Amplificateurs GSM or Booster GSM. These devices, often sold online through e-commerce platforms and social media networks, pose a significant threat to the security and quality of mobile phone networks, according to the Ministry.
In an official statement released today, the Ministry emphasized the illegality of these devices, reminding the public that “the possession, installation, or use of any amplification or jamming device is strictly prohibited, except in cases specifically authorized by law and regulations.”
The unauthorized use of such equipment carries severe legal consequences, the Ministry stressed. Individuals found to be in violation of these regulations will be subject to penalties as prescribed by law.
The proliferation of these signal boosters raises concerns about interference with legitimate mobile communication networks. The Ministry is actively monitoring the market and working to identify and prosecute those involved in the illegal sale and use of these devices.
Citizens are urged to report any suspected instances of illegal signal booster sales or usage to the appropriate authorities. The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications remains committed to ensuring the integrity and security of Algeria’s telecommunications infrastructure.
