Algeria to Model Energy Consumption for Optimized Investment

Algiers, November 24, 2025 – The Algerian Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies is developing a new model for electricity and gas consumption, aiming to optimize energy investments across the nation.

Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjjal, chaired an evaluation meeting today with key ministry officials to assess the progress of this ambitious project. According to a statement released by the ministry, the project focuses on creating a new energy consumption model, specifically for electricity and gas, that caters to different segments of Algerian society.

The initiative seeks to establish a scientific methodology based on precise field data. This data-driven approach will enable the government to direct energy investments more effectively and objectively throughout the country, ensuring a high-quality public service for all citizens.

Minister Adjjal emphasized that providing this quality public service is a strategic priority for the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies. He reiterated the importance of accurate data collection and analysis to inform future energy policies and infrastructure development.
