Egypt’s Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, has announced plans to visit Algeria leading a delegation of prominent Egyptian companies. The visit aims to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation in the industrial and transport sectors.
The announcement followed the ninth session of the Egyptian-Algerian Joint Higher Committee, co-chaired by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib in Egypt’s new capital.
Minister El-Wazir stated that he will hold meetings with Algerian counterparts to present potential collaboration opportunities within the industry and transport domains. He noted a strong interest from the Algerian side in strengthening partnerships between the two nations.
Discussions are expected to cover cooperation in textiles, petrochemicals manufacturing, and the automotive industry. The focus will be on establishing mutually beneficial ventures and leveraging the strengths of both countries.
Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Rania Al-Mashat, highlighted that experts from both sides have reached an agreement to bolster cooperation across various sectors, including industry, transport, renewable energy, culture, and tourism. She emphasized the importance of regular monitoring of signed agreements and the upcoming business forum as a platform for new private sector partnerships.
Furthermore, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mohamed Abdel Latif, pointed to significant prospects for collaboration with Algeria in technical education. He outlined Egypt’s efforts to modernize curricula and prioritize programming within the education system, offering potential areas for joint initiatives.
This visit signals a renewed commitment to strengthening economic ties between Egypt and Algeria, paving the way for increased trade and investment opportunities. The delegation’s visit is expected to foster stronger industrial partnerships and contribute to the economic growth of both nations. The focus will be on identifying concrete projects and initiatives that can deliver tangible benefits to both Egyptian and Algerian businesses.
