Algiers, November 27, 2025 – Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib today inaugurated the African Ministerial Conference on Local Pharmaceutical Production and Healthcare Technologies at the Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Center in Algiers.
The conference, held under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aims to foster collaboration and development within the African pharmaceutical sector. The focus is on strengthening local manufacturing capabilities and promoting access to essential medicines across the continent.
The conference brings together ministers of health, industry experts, policymakers, and representatives from various African nations. Discussions will center around strategies to overcome challenges in local pharmaceutical production, including access to financing, technology transfer, and regulatory frameworks.
Key topics to be addressed include promoting investment in pharmaceutical infrastructure, enhancing research and development capabilities, and fostering partnerships between local manufacturers and international pharmaceutical companies.
