Trump Vows to Halt Immigration from Developing Nations

President Donald Trump has announced his administration’s intention to permanently halt immigration from what he termed “Third World countries” until the American system is fully recovered. The announcement, made via a post on his Truth Social platform, outlined a series of drastic measures targeting both legal and illegal immigration.

Trump stated that he would end all federal benefits and subsidies for “non-citizens.” He further asserted his commitment to stripping citizenship from immigrants deemed to undermine internal security and deporting any foreign national considered a burden on the state, a danger to security, or incompatible with Western civilization.

The President also threatened to revoke millions of entry requests granted during his predecessor Joe Biden’s administration, vowing to remove anyone who does not represent a genuine value to the United States. These announcements were made during a Thanksgiving message, where Trump attacked immigrants, claiming that many are reliant on social welfare, originate from failed states, prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels.

These declarations follow the killing of a National Guard soldier near the White House. Investigators allege that an Afghan national, who previously worked with the CIA in Afghanistan and was resettled in the United States after the American withdrawal, committed the crime.

Yesterday, Trump announced an immediate halt to the processing of immigration applications from Afghanistan. His administration has also initiated a comprehensive review of the permanent residency status of immigrants from 19 countries designated as “of concern,” including Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, and Yemen. This policy shift signals a significant hardening of the administration’s stance on immigration. The long-term implications of these policies remain to be seen.
