Algiers – The newly appointed CEO of Sonatrach, Nordine Daoudi, commenced his term by hosting a delegation from the American energy giant, Chevron, at the company’s headquarters on Wednesday.
The Chevron delegation was led by Frank Mount, its Executive Director for Corporate Business Development. According to a statement released by Sonatrach, the meeting saw the participation of key executives from both companies.
Mr. Mount extended his congratulations to Mr. Daoudi on his recent appointment as the head of Sonatrach. The meeting served as an opportunity for both parties to exchange perspectives on the existing collaborative relationship between Sonatrach and Chevron.
Discussions also focused on the progress of negotiations aimed at realizing the principles agreement signed between the two companies on June 13, 2024. This agreement outlines the development of oil and gas resources in areas of mutual interest identified within the Ahnet and Berkine basins.
The meeting underscores Sonatrach’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with international energy companies and fostering the development of Algeria’s hydrocarbon resources.
